Just a reminder, we have a few spaces left in the iCloud Computing camp, taught by Dr. Tyrone Toland from USC Upstate. The camp will be three days, July 10-12th, 10am to Noon, and will cost $75. Kids do not need to bring a computer, as laptops will be provided for their use.

If you’re looking for a fun activity for your kids while school is out, from December 19-21, we’re going to be having day camps at the science center for 5K – 5th grade students.
On Monday, December 19th, we’re having STEM Grab Bag, where we’ll have a variety of different experiments, activities with magnets, and some engineering activities, including a Lego challenge build session.
On Tuesday, December 20th, the theme is I’m Not Afraid of the Dark – we’ll have Starlab programs, and lessons on space, caves (and some of the animals that live in them), and the deep ocean, as well as showing some glow in the dark animals and minerals.
For Wednesday, December 21st, the theme is Animals – we’ll talk about Reptiles, Amphibians, Sharks, Dinosaurs, Invertebrates, Animal Intelligence – whatever the kids want to learn about! Kids will get to hold or touch a variety of animals, watch some videos, and enjoy some other animal-related activities.
Camps will be offered in morning or afternoon half sessions from 9:00 – 12:00 and 1:00 – 4:00 for $20 a session/child, or $35 for a full day (please remember to pack a lunch for your child for all-day sessions!)

Remember Friday, October 21, 2016 is a Teacher Work Day in Spartanburg County. We are a great place for your child to come during the day! We keep the STEM learning going, the day moves fast as the students learn about amphibians, reptiles and invertebrates! There are many new species in the Spartanburg Science Center and your child will see and experience all of them! Our new Educational Director, Peter Lembcke, will take your child into a world of Biology! Space is limited so call and reserve a spot. If your child stays all day, remember to pack a lunch. There will be a supervised lunch and exploration of the science center until the afternoon session begins!

Be prepared for the first teacher workday of the new school year! The Spartanburg Science Center will be holding a camp on that Friday! Space will be limited so plan ahead! Send your child with a bag lunch and they will experience a day of science. This includes hands-on and minds-on experiences! All school age children are welcomed, K-6th grade. Check our website for the topics! There will be one from 9 am -12 pm, lunch from 12-1pm and then a second topic from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm. The entire day is only $60.
