Attention Parents of Kids 6-9 years old:

We are starting our 2nd year of our Robotics Club at the Spartanburg Science Center! First meeting is September 12, 2016 from 4:30 pm-6:00 pm. We meet twice a month on Mondays! If your child loves Legos and Robotics...this is the club for them! Dues are $40/month and they have a chance to be on a Jr. Lego Robotic Team if they desire! Fun and learning all rolled into one! Call and place your child's name on the list. Space is limited!

We all have children and grandchildren participating in sports. We need to know what we can do to possibly prevent and help recover fFULL! is happening in many of our summer camps!

                                          The Great Life I Lead as a Scientist!

Dr John Campbell is a retired physicist, the author of Historic Shipwrecks of the Chatham Islands, Rutherford Scientist Supreme, www.rutherford.org.nz, and the producer of the three-episode documentary Rutherford.

 He initiated and runs the Ask-A-Scientist programme in New Zealand, and holds several awards for communicating science to the general public. 

One technique involves the art and science of fire walking. He has also staged this some four times at UGA, 

where he is a frequent visitor, hence he is probably certifiable.

Come and experience engineering at its best!  There will be several challenges that your child can perform led by engineers!  Immerse your child in STEM activities and have a fun Saturday with science.  Tour the Science Center while you are here.












January 16 12:30-2:00 --Nature walk on the Cottonwood Trail with college science professors!  Reduce "screen time" of your children and walk and learn what is in your own neighborhood!  Free to the public!  Meet at the Science Center!  In case of inclement weather, the presentation will be held at the Science Center.

January 26  7:00 pm-8:15 pm --Time Out Spartanburg! Our new adult lecture series at the Science Center.  Our first presenter's topic will be "Tales of a Man Who Took a Road Less Traveled"!  Presented by a Wildlife Biologist and worldwide traveler!  You do not want to miss his presentation!  Free to the public.








We will be closed on January 18th to honor the memory of Martin Luther King!


           




 



Super STEM Saturdays

Every third Saturday from now until May 2016, join the Spartanburg Science Center for fun hands-on experiences in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).  Unless otherwise noted, participation is free with paid admission.
