Full Time Educational Programs Director: Applications open until June 15th

✓ Teaches SSC programs during the school day, after school, and during SSC camp programs

✓ Develops and conducts science educational programs at the SSC and other off-site locations

✓ Represents the SSC at community events such as science fairs, science nights, Spring Fling, and other community festivals and events

✓ Manage social media, monthly newsletter, and website accounts

✓ Plans and implements new SSC classes and displays

✓ Participates in the development of the annual budget, operating plan, and marketing plan, communication plan, and performance goals, as well as assists the Executive Director in the monitoring and evaluation of their implementation

✓ Provides oversight and care of SSC animals

✓ Assists in the management and maintenance of the SSC exhibits

✓ Reports monthly to the SSC Board of Directors

✓ Weekly hours may include occasional evenings, Saturday programs, or special events

✓ Fulfills all other duties and responsibilities as deemed appropriate for the position of Educational Programs Director, as set forth by the Executive Director and the SSC Board

Part-time Instructor for Kids Club

• Instructors will visit a school in Spartanburg or Cherokee County twice a week for three weeks (6 total visits per school) and teach a variety of hands-on science lessons to students in Kids Clubs
• Instructors will be required to make two visits per week between Monday and Thursday that last two hours (start and end time will vary depending on school schedule)
• All lessons are pre-written and ready for instructors to use (all other lesson plans must be approved before using)
• Instructors are welcome to sign up for more than one school at a time

Requirements:

• 18 years or older
• Must be able to pass a background check through Kids Club
• Must have your own transportation
• Instructors should have an interest in teaching although experience
• Teaching is not required

$20 an hour – plus mileage
